Migration Agent Fees in Wollongong (2026)
Before comparing migration agents in Wollongong, separate what you pay the practitioner from what you pay the government. The visa application charge belongs to Home Affairs and is paid to it directly; the bands here cover the professional fee alone. Visitor or student help is $480–$2,400 on our table, skilled work $1,900–$4,750 and a review or appeal $2,850–$9,500. Inside each band, the price is pushed around by the visa you apply for, any refusal on your record, the people included and whether an agent or a lawyer runs the file.

What Moves the Migration Agent Cost in Wollongong
- Who can charge you. Paid visa help in Wollongong must come from a registered migration agent or a practising lawyer; nobody else may lawfully charge (Department of Home Affairs). Neither can promise speed. Home Affairs warns that a provider claiming to fast-track or guarantee an Australian visa is not telling the truth.
- Conflicts of interest. An agent who has a personal interest in your application, or will gain something from it, has a conflict of interest. They can represent you only after disclosing it and receiving your written consent to carry on, and some conflicts rule them out altogether (OMARA). Put the question to any agent before signing up for an employer package at $2,850–$7,600.
- Partner applications. Partner files are priced at $3,800–$5,700 on our table. They take in both people's documents and histories, so the hours climb when either partner has had a visa refused, holds papers in another language or has periods that are hard to document. Mention all of it when you ask for the quote.
- Dependants as a line item. The Census counts 2.5 people in the average Wollongong household (ABS 2021 Census), and children or relatives added to an application are a cost item of their own. Ask whether each dependant attracts a separate charge, and whether the quote assumes everyone lodges together or some join later.
- Who gets the letters. Form 956 appoints your agent or lawyer, and you may also name them as the person who receives Home Affairs correspondence for you; mail sent to them then counts as delivered to you. If you change practitioner, end that role too, or letters keep going to the old one. Ask whether lodging these forms is in the fee.
- A lawyer's itemised bill. Where a Wollongong lawyer bills you a lump sum, the Uniform Law that applies in NSW gives you 30 days from the date the bill becomes payable to request an itemised version. The lawyer then has 21 days to deliver it and may not charge for the work of preparing it (Legal Services Council).
- Skilled visa groundwork. Our table puts skilled visas at $1,900–$4,750. Much of that work can happen before lodgement, when the agent helps assemble a skills assessment and the evidence behind it. A quote that leaves the assessment out will look cheaper on paper, so check the scope line by line.
Agent, lawyer or self-lodge?
Use an OMARA-registered agent or immigration lawyer for partner, skilled and employer-sponsored applications where the non-refundable government charge alone runs into thousands, and for any refusal or review.
Straightforward visitor or working holiday applications with clean histories are routinely self-lodged through ImmiAccount.
